Ruteng Pu�u
This traditional village is just 3 kms to the southwest of Ruteng town-the capital of Manggarai Regency. It is well known for its megalithic construction such as Compang�a stone ancestral Altar. The Compang is a ring-shaped stone platform surrounding a solid circle of stones and Like (a traditional house). Visitors can enjoy traditional (upon on request) such as dances, folksongs, Caci and lifestyle.

Cara Village
This is a traditional village up on a hilltop, situated 17 km west of Ruteng or 1 km from Cancar town. It is a good place to view Lodok with their unique Lingko rice field, the traditional farms of Manggarai people in a circular shaped like a spider web.  You can easily go there by car or motorbike.

Liang Bua

Liang Bua is a natural cave where the archeologists excavate fossil later named as Homo Floresiensis � who believed to be a missing link � which sought by the scientist for long. There are stalactites and stalagmites in the cave. In olden days, the cave used to be a dwelling place to the local people as well as the school for the neighboring villages. The cave is located at Bere Village of Ruteng sub-district, 12 km northwest of Ruteng. It is easy to get there by motorbike and truck. 

Ranamese Lake
Ranamese Lake is a volcanic lake in the midst of forest, just 25 km east of Ruteng, right on the way to Bajawa. The view to the lake gets more fascinating as you approach. You can enjoy the singing birds and the beauty of the landscape such as the flowers and the rice field view in Mano Village.


The volcano is located at 8.62 S, 120.52 E 
the summit elevation is 2100 m 
with lava domes. Ranaka volcano appeared to be inactive until 1988 it burst into activity. On 28th December 1988 explosions sent ash to 2000 m above the crater. 
By the 6th of January 1999 20,000 people evacuated from a 5 km zone around the volcano. 
A lava plug then appeared in the crater by 11th January. The recent eruptions of Ranaka was in
1991, 1987-89. The volcano is accessible both by car and walking. It is advised to visit the volcano in the morning as to attend a nature concert of singing birds. It is about 7 km in distance to reach the summit. The car may drop you up to the km 3 and the rest may be done on foot. The crater of the volcano is reachable.

Batu Cermin 

Batu Cermin is a natural cave located at Wae Kesambi village about 5 km from Labuan Bajo. There are a few fossils of marine life such as fish, coral reefs and turtle and many types and shapes of stalactites and stalagmites. In the dark part of the cave, there is a big hole like a conference room where you can see black spider and flying foxes and sometimes snake. To get there, it is more practical by motorbike or car. From this point you can also enjoy the beautiful sunrise or sunset. It is difficult for the elderly or small children and torch is required.

Sano Nggoang
This beautiful sulfur hot spring located in the high land surrounded by hill and mountain with cool weather about 50 km from Labuan Bajo, it is good for relaxing. For local people the water is well known as remedy for skin diseases.

Cunca Wulang
An amazing waterfall close to Labuan Bajo. It is 31 m in height, surrounded by steep slopes cliffs and thick forest situated in Warsawe village about 30 km east of Labuan Bajo. At this time it is quiet challenge to reach the location by car or motorbike, it would be better on foot. It is a good place to trekking.

Warloka is an archeological site consisting of stone post or dolmens, menhir, and ancient ceramic just 30 km south of Labuan Bajo and can be reached by boat while motorbike is possible but quiet challenging. The near by places are Sano Nggoang, Dolat Lake and Rinca island.

There are several large groups of megalithic stones �meeting places (Ture) where village elders make decisions affecting their relations with the supernatural. It is believed that the stones were all brought to their present location by a muscular supernatural being named DHAKE � a man before the first humans came to Flores.

Is the biggest village in Ngadha tribe, the traditional houses, Ngadhu, Bhaga are still exist. It is located 12 km East of Bajawa town. To reach the villages just find out the public transport such as Bemo, Motorcycle at Bajawa Market or Watujaji bus terminal.

It is located at Soa Sub district 25 km north east of Bajawa. There is a hot spring with the resort called Ngada Paradise. The property is running by the local government of Ngada District.  It is a good place to stay. There are some cottages, meeting hall, a permanent swimming pool were built. Take a chance to enjoy the natural hot bath, some beliefs that the water can cure from the skin diseases such as small pox, etc.

Riung � the Seventeen Islands
Riung is the Nature Conservation Park mainly to protect the under water eco-system. It is 72 km north of Bajawa. There are small isles of shore known for the beautiful coral gardens with white sandy beach, unspoiled mangrove forest inhabited by thousand of huge fruit eating bats. To explore those islands take a tiny wooden motorized boat of the fishermen. Eleven km east of Riung there is Oting village where women producing Supplementary Weaving or Lipa Dowik using natural dyes.

Kelimutu lakes lies on the top of a mountain with the height of 1.640 m above sea level. The lakes are said to be the wonder of the world because of their strikingly unique colors: red as now changed into dark brown, white has come into black and the last one is blue. Kelimutu is one of the volcanoes in Flores, classified as a C type according to the Volcanic Service Reports. The peak of the mountain lies longitudinally from northwest to southwards.
The Lio people name the red color as Tiwu Ata Polo (the lake of the bad spirit), the blue lake as Tiwu Nua Muri Koo Fai (the lake of the youth) and the white one as Tiwu Ata Mbupu (the lake of the old people). It is believed that Kelimutu is where all the spirits go after dead. The spirits will go to the lake, which are suit for them. Those who commit sins, criminal acts and the like will dwell at Tiwu Ata Polo. The youth sprits will go to the blue lake. 

A stopover strategically situated on the foot of Mt. Kelimutu along the main road Ende � Maumere. Moni is 53 km from Ende and accessible by land transport.  There are lodges and home stays with very low standard facilities. The are lodges named as hotel but the facilities are poor indeed. They are built with no plan and no guidance from the expert or local government.

The Exile House of Mr. Sukarno
Mr. Sukarno � the world famous Indonesian founding Father - was exiled to Ende by the Dutch administration in 1934 -1938. It was in Ende Mr. Sukarno realized that all the modern religion in the country are imported, not native. Mr. Sukarno is a thinker, artist and of course politician. The idea of Pancasila � the five principles of Indonesian philosophy � was first come to Mr. Sukarno�s mind when he spent his spare time under the breadfruit tree in Ende.  The exile house is now considered as historical site and protected under the National law. In the house one still can find paintwork of Mr. Sukarno together with some original furniture once used by him. Behind the Museum there is a well 12 m in depth. Some says that the water is good for health.

Used to be the center of Sikka Kingdom in 17th century. The village is known for the typical Ikat Weaving of Sikka and the old Catholic Church. It is located in the south coast of Flores about 30 km south of Maumere.

A village located 18 km east of Maumere known for the typical Ikat Weaving with lush green tropical plants such as Clove, vanilla, coffee, Cocoa, Jackfruit and coconut. The village offers Cultural Performance upon request.

It is the only village where seashell is still in use to enrich the appearance of the Ikat Weaving. The well-known Ikat Weaving product from the village is Kwatek Kinge. The village is located about 25 km southwest of Larantuka, 2 km off the main road Larantuka � Maumere.

The biggest Korke � animistic shrine is located here, built amongst the big trees off the village. Enroute to the Korke one will pass village with several Langobelen and Cashew nut plantation. The village is located about 18 km west of Larantuka.

Riang Pedang
Located about 25 km west Larantuka on the Gulf of Hading. The village is known for the cashew nut products and palm wine liquor. The Korke in the village is still in use; the rituals and festivals are held routinely.
